When we got to the HSBC Arena to see David play in a pre-season game vs the Sabres I managed to get my digital SLR with a monster zoom lens into the arena but was separated by security as they pulled over my wife and 12-year-old son for smuggling in a bag of M&M’s. They had to scarf them down in the parking lot while I waited inside the arena.
It was a good game that the Leafs won 3 – 2 in a 15 round shootout. David shot twelfth and almost got the game-winner. At 13:00 mins into the first period, David got in a nice tilt with a huge dude, Cody McCormick. It was fun to watch and see the Leaf bench including stars like Kessel, Phaneuf etc cheering him on.
Because I was able to bring in my big camera and we had seats on the glass, I was able to get some good shots of David in his Leaf jersey.
